SKU TARMKVIIFDRP-1

There are many companies within this aftermarket space, but few carry the reputation that we do when it comes to quality and customer service. We are extremely passionate about being the best at what we do, and that is why when it comes to replacement brake components, we always lean towards Tarox. We believe that Tarox shares the same vision, passion and ethos that we do here at ORT - and thus, we are confident in the product they produce and their ongoing commitment to building products that are superior to the competition in nearly every facet.

Why Tarox?

Wind the clock back to 1983. At the time, drilled or slotted rotors were only available for racing cars and not for regular road going passenger cars. Gianni and his wife Maria coupled their race winning technology with their passion for thinking outside the box and developed the first race style rotors for everyday fast road applications. In 1988 Tarox introduced the G88 rotor, and it is still in production today! For the last 46 years, Tarox has been building some of the strongest rotors known to man with a tensile strength of nearly three times that of an OEM rotor. Safe to say, you will go through pads faster than a set of Tarox rotors.

The Product:

We have often said big brake kits are gorgeous to look at and do function well - but most people will never come close to using them to their full intent or capacity. In fact for a fast road application, a big brake is overkill nearly every single time. Therefore, a nice replacement disc + pad combination will serve 98% of our customers. Don't forget good fluid and good tires, those matter too! Rather than hunt and peck for the perfect setup, we've put together what we feel is the best replacement combination for the MkVII GTI. This setup includes your choice of Tarox Discs (Blank, F2000, G88 or Sport Japan) and your choice of Tarox Pads (Strada, Corsa, Competizione). We also offer you a chance to add fluid to this package at no extra cost

Let's Talk Pads:

The Strada pads are ideal for fast road use and every day driving. They work great from cold and provide immediate response without pre-heating whilst also offering a higher coefficient of friction for improved braking power, improved resistance to high temperatures and a longer service life than your OEM pads. Thus, you will not only get better performance out of these pads, you will also get longer life!

Capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 1100°F, this pad has an optimum temperature range of 300°F to 650°F.

Coefficient of friction:
Cold 0.37
Hot 0.42

The Corsa pad is a great all – round pad, and although primarily intended for track day use, the pads can also be used to great effect for fast road use on more powerful cars. Corsa pads are still effective from cold and therefore give maximum performance at all temperatures. The high coefficient of friction gives amazing levels of pedal feel and massive amounts of bite, yet they are not hard on discs like some track type pads.

Capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 1200°F, this pad has an optimum temperature range of 390°F to 1100°F.

Coefficient of friction:
Cold 0.47
Hot 0.49

The Competizione was developed on the race track the Competizione compound is for pure racing, delivering performance without compromise. Featuring a high coefficient of friction, this pad has a superior release characteristic compared to other race materials making it easier to modulate. It delivers a very hard pedal feel due to a low compressibility level and outstanding thermal stability which ensures constant performance lap after lap.

Capable of withstanding temperatures of over 1650°F, this pad has an optimum temperature range of 750°F to 1475°F.

Coefficient of friction:
Cold 0.47
Hot 0.53

Before selecting your option set, please be fully aware of the different front / rear disc sizes for your MkVII GTI / Golf R / Alltrack. If you're unsure of what size components are on your car, please shoot us an email with your VIN!
